Hope
dash my dreams to the ground
and anger, octopus-like, wraps its tentacles around my pelvis
I am stopped in my tracks, I am brought to my knees
I search and search for one thing that can heal me.
I dream of my youth when I was free of IC
I hold onto those pain free memories like a child desires sweets
I sit in the doctors office with a child's face full of hopeful expectation that he will help me
once again my hope dash away
I suddenly found myself gazing at my denial and it hit me
Acceptance would set me free from gloom and despair, and into the pleasing climate of hope.
